My daughters' dance studio has been invited to perform in a Chinese cultural festival in Beijing. They will participate in a cultural parade with dancers from around the world, sight see, and travel to Louyang to perform in their local cultural festival.
Two dedicated parents-neither of which is me- have collected volumes of information, organized it and gotten the visas and airline tickets for all 150 (dancers and family) participating. Not to mention collecting funds and working with the Chinese coordinator of the event to arrange accommodations in Beijing. And who knows how many countless other details involved when arranging a trip to China.
Rehearsals have been going fast and furious for the last few weeks. Costumes, itineraries, and information on traveling in China without getting sick have been sent home and in 10 days we all depart for a once a lifetime event. Time to get packin'!
